As this year’s Miss Spirit of Virginia, I am thrilled to share my passion for a cause that is close to my heart—Jeanie’s Closet. As the founder of this nonprofit, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact our school-based closet has on kids with disabilities. Jeanie’s Closet provides essential resources like a change of clothes and tools to help them learn basic dressing skills. Beyond the practical support, it empowers them to use clothing as a means of self-expression. It’s been a joy to witness the positive changes this initiative has brought about, and I’m excited to announce that we already have plans to expand, reaching even more children and making a greater difference in their lives. Being Miss Spirit of Virginia allows me to amplify this mission and continue making strides for our community!

Jeanie and the Miss Virginia Volunteer Organization are partnering with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office to present a new educational program that’s focused on empowering students to make good decisions at home, around friends, and after school. D.A.R.E to Empower teaches children how to define, asses, respond, and evaluate situations so they can overcome peer pressure and achieve their goals and dreams.
