COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
To fulfill our mission to serve our communities through volunteerism and action, we are proud to have partnered with established nonprofits and local organizations that give back in crucial and significant ways. We are excited to join forces with the likes of D.A.R.E., YOVASO, Jubilee Family Development Center, Amtrak, and the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, as well as starting our own day of service inititative called We Serve with Miss Virginia Volunteer. From school supply drives and meal-packing to clean-up projects and school visits, Miss VIrginia Volunteer prides ourselves on using our voices to change our world.

PARTNERING WITH JUBILEE FAMILY DEVELOPMENT CENTER
During last year’s Pageant week, our Misses, Teens, and Princesses had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Jubilee Center and engage with members of our community! They had so much fun spending time with the amazing children there, bonding over games and basketball, and creating joyful memories that will last a lifetime.

SALVATION ARMY
Miss Virginia Volunteer is proud to partner with The Salvation Army in multiple initiatives that embody our spirit of service. One key effort is the Red Shield Diner, where volunteers serve meals to those in need, creating a sense of community and support. We also participate in special events like the Angel Train Express, providing breakfast to the Charlottesville community. Working alongside Salvation Army staff, volunteers and residents alike experience a deep sense of fulfillment, fostering meaningful connections and giving back to those who need it most.

D.A.R.E
Miss Virginia Volunteers proudly supports D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), a crucial initiative dedicated to preventing drug abuse among youth. This program provides engaging, interactive lessons that educate students about the risks of substance abuse and equip them with the skills needed to make healthy, informed decisions. To further support this mission, Miss Virginia Volunteers actively visits schools to discuss the D.A.R.E. program and its benefits, fostering a supportive environment and empowering young people with the knowledge and confidence to build safer, drug-free communities. This hands-on involvement underscores our commitment to promoting positive youth development and resilience.

YOVASO
Miss Virginia Volunteer is proud to partner with YOVASO (Youth of Virginia Speak Out About Traffic Safety), a statewide peer-to-peer education and leadership program dedicated to preventing motor vehicle crashes among teenagers. As motor vehicle accidents remain one of the leading health concerns for teens, this partnership plays a critical role in raising awareness and promoting safer driving habits. Through this collaboration, Miss Virginia Volunteer supports YOVASO’s mission to empower young people across the state to take the lead in promoting traffic safety within their schools and communities. By encouraging teens to speak out and take action, YOVASO fosters a culture of responsibility and awareness that can help reduce the risks associated with motor vehicle crashes. We are committed to amplifying YOVASO’s message and engaging youth in impactful programs and initiatives that promote safety, leadership, and community involvement. Together, we are working toward a future where safer roads are a reality for every young driver in Virginia.
